Things To Do 

Acacia Gardens & Games - 2 acres of bush gardens and games including 9 hole mini golf, giant chess, giant connect four, pickup sticks, puzzle boards etc. Gas bbqs, kiosk, BYO. APEX Port Tours - Saturday 1:30pm from the Esperance Port Viewing Area, small charge applies.

Aussie Bight Expeditions - The Oka Vehicle will take you on a Wildflower Tour in season (from about end of August, check with the operator on 0427 536 674) to see the beauty of our National Parks, beaches and hinterland. Tours operate depending on weather and beach conditions. 

Bird and Animal Park - open on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday from 10am to 4pm, and every day school holidays. Kids can cuddle cute rabbits and guinea pigs, handfeed the animals, and the family can enjoy a drink or a snack in the cafe or on the verandah surrounded by bird life and the tranquility of shady trees. Bicycle Hire - Hire a bike for a day or half a day from the Island View Apartments, the Jetty Resort or Dempster Sporting and cycle your way from Castletown to Salmon Beach. This track is about 10km Long.

Bingo - Every Friday night from 7.00pm. For eyes down at 7.30pm. Good Prizes, good atmosphere and good time with 25 games and 2 flyers. At the Esperance Bowling Club in Black Street. For inquiries please call (08) 9071 1784.

Esperance Diving and Fishing - Come aboard the "SOUTHERN CONQUEST" for all your diving and fishing needs. Dive on the very popular "Sanko Harvest" and "Lapwing" wrecks. Esperance Eco Discovery Tours - Our range of tours caters for everyone, taking in the beauty of the National Parks of Cape Le Grand, Cape Arid and beyond. Full Day, half-day and specialised tours are available including a Great Ocean Drive and Beach tour. Tours operate all year round depending on weather and beach conditions.

Esperance Helitours
- Flights are conducted from the James Street groyne located on the foreshore in the town centre, from October to April. Flights range from 10 mins to 1 hour. From May to October flights of a minimum of 20 minutes for 2 or 3 people are conducted from the  owners private property by appointment. Esperance Island Cruises - Woody Island - Cruises depart from the Taylor Street Jetty, you will get the chance to see seals, dolphins, wild goats, cape barren geese, sea eagles, and between the months of July and October Whales are often sighted. Esperance Mini Golf - Open Sundays as well as all school holidays, 10am - 4pm. Jolly Jalopy hire is now available for hire. Great family fun!!

Golf -  Esperance has two grass, 18 hole courses for the avid golfer to enjoy. The Pink Lake Country Club is located on Nicholson Drive, and the Esperance Golf  Club is located on Dickenson Rd. Green fees are $15.00. Club hire: Dempster Sports, Sports Power, Bay of Isles Sports.

Helms Arboretum - Acres of a diverse range of botanical species. Wildflowers prolific in season, picnic areas and walk trails.

Kepa Kurl Eco - Cultural Discovery tours - Have four different tours available - Marbleerup half day tour (MT Ridley), Mandooboornup/Mandoowernup half-day tour (Frenchman's Peak/Cape Le Grand), Moir Homestead full day tour and Cowich/Kepwari 2 hour tour (Island/Wetlands [Town Tour] ) . Kepwari Wetland Walk Trails - Only a 5 min drive from Esperance. The one-way trail is 3.6km long and is designed to be a learning experience. There are two bird hides located along the trail so visitors can observe the water birds.

Kite surfing -  Looking to kite the beaches of Esperance? Have a look on the Esperance Kiters website to know which places are best, safety issues, the local kite surfing rules and more. 

Lake Monjingup- Located about 10 minutes drive from Esperance on the South Coast Highway. Lake Monjingup is a great place to relax and have a picnic, walk, view the birds and plants. Gas barbecues available. See the Esperance Visitor Centre for more information.

Mini Steam Express - Open from October through to March. The kids and kids at heart will love it here. At the Adventureland park on the Esplanade.

Surf Board Hire - Twilight School of Surf, 0433 128 102 + surfing classes with Mossy. 

TATEY'S Fishing Tours: the only land based fishing tours in town, that cater for the beginner to the astute angler. All ages welcome. Local tours also available (Stonehenge, Bird and Animal Park, Gerat Ocean Drive...) Call Tatey's on 9071 5003 or go and see them on 39 Norseman Road.

Tennis - The Esperance Tennis Club warmly welcomes visitors to the club. Entrance to the clubhouse and courts is via Black street opposite the Leisure Centre. Turn right off the roundabout into the Show grounds. Adventure Playground - Do you have young children looking for something to do? Try the Adventure Playground located on the Esplanade next to the Taylor Street Tearooms.

Bay of Isles Leisure Centre - Facilities inlclude 25m heated indoor pool, hydrotherapy pool, spas, sauna, fitness centre, function and meeting rooms, Creche, cafe/kiosk, sports hall and public disabled restrooms/showers. Ph: (08) 9072 0222

Bandy Creek Boat Harbour - The hub of the region's commercial fishing and a great place to drop a line in the water.

Cannery Arts Centre -  The Cannery Arts centre is the premier exhibition space in Esperance. The centre has a program of touring exhibitions, studios, arts and craft shop where locally made items can be viewed and purchased in an environment of unique historical interest. (08) 9071 3599

Dalyup River Winery - Located in the picturesque Dalyup River Valley. This winery, the only one in the region, offers a range of red and white wines for the wine connoisseur. The winery is open from September to April on weekends and public holidays from 10am to 4pm. Ph (08) 9076 5027

Dempster Homestead - Built in 1867 this was the home of Esperance's most famous pioneer family. It is privately owned but can be viewed from the road, 155 Dempster street.

Esperance Library - Open weekdays 10am - 6pm; Tuesdays 12:00 - 6pm; Saturdays 9am - 12:00; closed Sundays. Ph: (08) 9083 1500.

Historic Museum Village - Fascinating collection of historical buildings which house art, craft and design shop, Aboriginal Art Gallery, Kepa Kurl Eco Cultural Discovery tours, ESP, a restaurant and the Esperance Visitor Centre.

Mechanical Restauration Group - open 4th Sunday of each month 10am to 4pm on Mclean road.

Mermaid Leather - Rainy day or had enough of the beautiful Esperance beaches? Visit Mermaid Leather, Australia's only specialist fish and shark leather tannery. Tour through the studio and learn from a DVD presentation how Mermaid spins their magic of turning raw fish skins into a fine exotic leather. Municipal Museum - One of  Western Australias outstanding regional Museums, the Municipal Museum contains historical objects from the 1800s such as a 1820 piano; machinery and furniture. Parts from 1979 Skylab, which was Americas first space station can be seen along with gear and a life boat from the ship "Sanko Harvest". Open every day 1:30 to 4:30pm. Ph: (08) 9071 1579.
