Skylab 30TH ANNIVERSARY JULY 12TH, 2009
On July 12th 1979, the first American space station "Skylab" crashed out of control through the night sky and slammed back to Earth near Balladonia. As it moved through the atmosphere pieces tore off and fell to Earth in the Esperance region. Large pieces of it are now on display in the Esperance Municipal Museum along with other material from NASA.
A Skylab scale model is on display at the Visitor Centre and we also sell great Skylab t-shirts, stickers and other memorabilia.
