Esperance is an extremely popular holiday destination for families with young children. The pristine sandy beaches, wide open spaces and numerous recreational activities provide children with plenty of fun and entertainment. During school holidays you will often find activities for children at the Esperance Public Library and the Cannery Arts Centre.

The Bird and Animal Park is open on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday from 9am to 4pm, as well as every day during school holidays. It is available for functions. Kids can cuddle cute rabbits and guinea pigs, handfeed the animals, and the family can enjoy a drink or a snack in the cafe or on the verandah surrounded by bird life and the tranquility of shady trees. Only 10 minutes from town. Closed part of June (check with the Visitor Centre for exact dates).

Mermaid Leather offers tours of their factory and showroom. Open every day (except Monday) from 2:00pm – 5:00pm.
Esperance Museum - One of WA’s outstanding regional museums, the Esperance Municipal Museum contains historical objects & memorabilia from the 1800’s, parts of the 1979 Skylab (America’s first space station), photographs & a locomotive engine. Open daily from 1:30-4:30pm.
