Applicants for the Suicide Prevention Grants had to demonstrate how their projects aligned with one or more of the four pillars of the Alliance Against Depression Framework, an integrated community-based approach to tackle depression and suicide. The pillars include support for high-risk patients and their relatives, public awareness campaigns to reduce the stigma associated with depression and suicide, localised training for health professionals, and education activities on depression and suicide for community members and leaders.

The Suicide Prevention Grants program is supported by WA Primary Health Alliance as part of the Australian Government’s Suicide Prevention Activities.
